Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences
Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences is the first private faculty within the Serbian national university system dedicated to mathematics and computer sciences. The Faculty was established in 2013 as part of Alfa BK University with the new idea of integrated studies of Mathematics and computer sciences.
On this faculty, students will gain knowledge not only form computer sciences’ field, as well as from the science which deals with hardware, software, computer theory and its usage, and also the knowledge from Mathematics’ disciplines continuously throughout all study levels.
After successfully completing four years of undergraduate studies (eight semesters – 240 ECTS credits), students are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS). There is a wide range of job opportunities with this degree, not only in the field of computer sciences: according to the Regulations of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia, Bachelors of Computer Science are qualified to work as a mathematics teacher in elementary schools. Furthermore, they are eligible to enroll in master’s program at many related faculties both in Serbia and abroad.
Master’s studies last one year (two semesters – 60 ECTS). After the successful completion of master’s studies, students receive the degree of Master of Computer Science (MCS).
PhD studies last three years (six semesters – 180 ECTS). After the successful completion of all examinations and the defense of doctoral dissertation, students are awarded the degree of a Doctor of Computer Science.
In addition, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences offers the possibility of taking *MPP exams (Methodology-Pedagogy-Psychology course group for teaching careers).
