SCIENTIFIC, PROFESSIONAL OR ART SPHERE:
Information and Communication Technologies
TRAINING FORM:
Master’s program
SCOPE OF TRAINING EXPRESSED IN ESPB POINTS:
60
NAME OF THE SPECIALTY:
Master of Engineering in Electrical Technology and Computing Equipment
TRAINING PROGRAM DURATION:
1 year (2 semesters)
The accredited Information and Communication Technologies master’s training program is coordinated with the educational system of the Republic of Serbia and the relevant accredited European and international programs. The Information and Communication Technologies master’s program lasts for one year (two semesters) and is rewarded with 60 ESPB points. This program is intended for students who have completed four years of basic academic training and earned 240 ESPB points.
The training program is composed of mandatory study subjects and optional study subjects. Students can influence the training structure thanks to optional academic subjects (selected by the students), thus forming their academic profiles. Mandatory academic disciplines such as Management of Information System Development, Management of Technologies and Innovation, Tools and Methods of Software Engineering and Research Methods, as well as study and research work ensure gaining the required knowledge and skills in this area, while optional subjects such as Quality and Information System Management, Data Studies, Software Design and Knowledge Management are used to process the content that corresponds to interests and abilities of individual students.
In the course of studies, the candidate may choose the theme of the master’s thesis. Project tasks from the first and second semesters may be integrated in the master’s thesis. Project tasks allow master’s degree students to solve specific practical tasks through practical work and research, using scientific methods and approaches, as well as combine basic knowledge from various fields and apply them in their works, ultimately processing them in master’s paper. After completing the master’s program in Information and Communication Technologies, the graduate is awarded the degree of the Master of Engineering in Electrical Technology and Computing Equipment.
This training program is interactive in nature, always includes practical examples, motivates students to think and express creative approach, to work independently and to apply the gained knowledge.
The goal of this training program is to provide the students through education with the ability to choose professions and employment in companies, municipalities, banks, state institutions and organizations and various types of institutions, to allow graduate students to independently monitor, acquire, develop and apply modern scientific and professional achievements, and to provide graduates to enroll in doctor’s degree programs after completing the master’s program.
Subject-specific competences obtained by students of this training program are as follows:
- the ability of students to apply obtained knowledge by solving a specific project tasks, starting from identification of the problem, through analysis, design, programming, introduction, presentation and creation of design and user documentation;
- the ability to use programming and optimization techniques;
- the ability of students to use experimental methods in research work, with a special focus on the importance of constant monitoring of the course of the experiment, as well as the ability to analyze results of the experiment;
- the ability of students to use methods, techniques and tools required for modeling and optimization of business processes;
- the ability of students to analyze and develop types of knowledge and the existing problems and initiatives of knowledge management.
- The Information and Communication Technologies training program is integral and extensive and corresponds to several foreign programs. Conditions of enrollment and progressing to the next year’s course, as well as receiving diploma and training method have been agreed upon with certified European programs.
